AHAFO REGIONAL MINISTER PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO TANO SOUTH MUNICIPAL

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardner has paid a working visit to the Tano South Municipal Assembly to interact with traditional leaders and other dignitaries in the Municipality.

The Queen Mother of Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II, welcomed the newly appointed Regional Minister and extended her profound appreciation to President H.E John Dramani Mahama for his effort in promoting gender equality by appointing a female as the Regional Minister. She emphasized that, as a female minister, she must prioritize women’s empowerment in the region.

Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II seized the opportunity to appeal to the Regional Minister for some major developmental projects needed in the Municipality. She highlighted on the need for a facelift of the Bechem Government Hospital and expressed their readiness to make available land if relocating the hospital becomes necessary.

She further expressed the need for the Minister to complete the ongoing road constructions in the Bechem Township and further requested that Tano South Municipality be provided with a Nursing Training College.

In her final submission the Queen mother advised that the Minister works hand in hand with Nananom as well as all the Districts in the region to promote development of the region and congratulated her on her appointed and wished her well in all endeavours.

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardner thanked the Queen mother and Nananom, for their worm reception and extended greeting from the President H.E John Dramani Mahama to the good people of Bechem.

Hon. Gardner, in her submission, acknowledged that her office is aware of the concerns raised by the Queen mother and stressed that her office, in collaboration with Hon. Charles Kwasi Asiedu, the MP for Tano South, are taking necessary measures to address these concerns. She explained that, under this National Democratic Congress’s second administration, road construction is a priority for this year, so she would ensure the completion of all roads in Bechem as requested by the Queen Mother.

Hon. Gardner added that she will work closely with Queen Mothers and all women in the region to ensure that women in the Ahafo region are empowered.

She thanked Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II for her advice and assured her of her frequent visit for advice whenever necessary.
