TEAM FROM GHANA PRODUCTIVE SAFETY NET PROJECT (GPSNP) PAID A WORKING VISIT TO TANO SOUTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

A team from the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (GPSNP) paid a one-day working visit to the Tano South Municipal Assembly to inspect safety net projects within the municipality. 

In his opening remarks, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Augustine Peprah, warmly welcomed the team. He highlighted the significant impacts of the project over the past four years, including support for 220 beneficiaries, the rehabilitation of 7 km of feeder roads and establishment of climate change plantation across the municipality. 

Ms. Cornelia, a member of the visiting team, explained that the project plays a critical role in supporting major government initiatives. She outlined key programs under the project, such as the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP), the School Feeding Program, climate change initiatives, Labor Intensive Public Works. 

Following presentations on each program, Ms. Cornelia acknowledged the suggestions and challenges raised during the discussions, assuring that they would be evaluated ahead of a review meeting. She emphasized the team’s commitment to continue the support for local communities and expressed gratitude to the Assembly for its efforts in ensuring the success of the project. 

In his closing remarks, Mr. Peprah, speaking on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), thanked the team for their visit. He acknowledged that such visits strengthen the assembly’s commitment in the implementation of the project.
