Orientation of Key Stakeholders on New District Medium-Term Development Plan 2022-2025

A one day orientation has been organized for the Key Stakeholders on New District Medium-Term Development Plan. This orientation was organized by the MPCU headed by Mr. Franklin Y. Walier.

In an opening remarks by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, he said this was a necessary orientation organized. He continued that as the previous medium term development comes to an end in 2021, there is the need to prepare for a new medium term beginning 2022-2025. He urged and pleaded with all the stakeholders to put in their maximum effort in the preparation of the plan and to help meet the deadline.

A ten member team was inaugurated to oversee the preparation of the plan. They included the following:

  • Municipal Co-ordinating Director – provide technical assistance and advise
  • Municipal Planning Officer – Secretary
  • Budget Analyst
  • Statistical Officer
  • Physical Planning Officer
  • Social Welfare and Community Development Officer
  • Finance Officer
  • Municipal GES Director
  • Municipal MOFA Director
  • Municipal GHS Director.

In a presentation by the Municipal Planning Officer, he outlined the guidelines for the preparation. He said, its the sixth (6th) edition of the planning guidelines since 1996 and its developed through a consultative process with stakeholders. He continued that the new plan is simplified for easy use, more focused, more concise, less repetitive, supports devolution and size of planning guidelines now reduced by about 56%.
