NATIONAL SECURITY SENSITIZES ASSEMBLY STAFF ON SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING CAMPAIGN

The National Security team visited the Assembly to promote the “See Something, Say Something” campaign, aimed at raising awareness ON the importance of being security-conscious.

During his remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Collins Offinam Takyi emphasized that everyone has a role in ensuring community safety. He noted that the team plans to engage in various activities throughout the municipality to further educate residents on the campaign.

Mr. Kwadwo Antwi Bosiako, the Regional Coordinator for National Security, explained that they depend on citizen reports to enhance security measures. He highlighted that the National Security is attentive to specific information from the public.

Captain Ishmael Frimpong Yeboah, the Deputy Operations Coordinator, described security as a state free from fear and danger. He pointed out the threat of terrorism in West Africa, where 15% of global terrorism incidents occur. He assured that the government is committed to preventing such threats from entering the country.

Captain Yeboah reiterated that the “See Something, Say Something” campaign is designed to encourage the public to report any suspicious activities or behaviors in their neighborhoods. He clarified that while there is currently no terrorism in the country, the initiative aims to maintain peace and prevent potential threats.

Notable attendees included Kofi Mensah, Akosua Dankwah Ntim Sekyere (National Coordinator), and Mr. Augustine Peprah (Municipal Coordinating Director). The MCE concluded by thanking the team and urging all staff to actively support the campaign and educate others about the importance of reporting suspicious activities to help preserve peace in the nation.
