The Ahafo Regional Minister Mr. George Yaw Boakye and his entourage have paid a 2-day visit to the Paramount Chief of Bechem and the Tano South Municipality.

On behalf of Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, Nana AdwoaPo Dwamena Serwaa II, the Queen Mother of Bechem Traditional Area thanked the MCE and Ahafo Regional Minister for visiting residents in the municipality especially Nananom to find out the problems confronting the Municipality. She advised Hon. Boakye to collaborate with all manner of persons during his tenure of office to ensure the developmental agenda of the region is achieved.

In a short but impressive address, the MCE for Tano South, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi said the visit of the Minister to the municipality is to avail himself and interact with Nananom to find out the way all hands would be put on table to develop Ahafo Region.
Hon. George Yaw Boakye, the Ahafo Regional Minister thanked Nananom and some heads of department for their reception. He indicated that he would do all it takes to ensure unity and peace is maintained in the region. He pledged to create employment opportunities for the youth to reduce the rural urban migration. Hon. Boakye assured Nananom and the gathering that quick steps will be taken to ensure all on-going projects in Municipality are completed.

During his visit, he inspected and inaugurated a number of projects including Techimantia Police Station, Classroom Blocks at Techimantia and Dwomo, Bechem-Techimantia-Akomadan Road, Derma-Asuoso Road, Regional Education Directorate and others. He also cut sod for the construction of a new slaughter house in Bechem. He also interacted with the final year students of Bechem Presbyterian Secondary School and encouraged them to put in much effort in their final exams.
As part of the visit, Hon. George Yaw Boakye had an interaction with the staff of the Tano South Municipal Assembly. He admonished them to work hard for the development of Tano South Municipal, Ahafo Region and the country as a whole.
